No Return Valve Needed: The FEDOUR 4-outlet air pump should be installed above the water level to prevent water from flowing back into the unit.
Return Valve Required: If the air pump is positioned below the water level, a return valve is necessary to prevent water from flowing back and potentially damaging the pump.

Installation of Return Valve: The return valve should be installed with the larger end closer to the air pump and the smaller end near the air stone. Tip: Before use, pass a thin object through the valve to avoid internal stickiness for smooth air flow.
